Letter from the Superintendent...

Welcome to the Central Heights Independent School District web site!

This year over 1,100 students will pass through our doors each morning, and we have the great responsibility of educating them and preparing them for life after high school.  The 2012-2013 school year has already proven to be an exciting one, and we are looking forward to the challenge of meeting each student's educational needs.

As I enter my fifth year with Central Heights ISD, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as your superintendent.  The students, teachers, staff members, and school board in Central Heights are among the finest people that I have ever met.  By working together as part of a team we are insuring that each student obtains the best education possible.

Recently CHISD received its sixth consecutive "Recognized" academic accountability rating. This is an accomplishment that few districts in our region have obtained, and one that has made our community extremely proud. In addition to high academic standards, Central Heights ISD has a tradition of excellence in a variety of extracurricular activities. From our outstanding agricultural and theatre departments, to our state recognized athletic program, Central Heights Independent School District continues to lead the way in promoting a quality educational environment.

In 2012, we opened the new high school, middle school, and completed all elementary renovations. The new facilities include "state of the art" science labs, computer labs, advanced classroom technology, a multi-media center, a fine arts wing, and two full size gymnasiums. Our district has seen rapid growth over the past five years, and these new facilities will enable us to provide a quality education to future generations for years to come.
